VISA Requirements

If you’ve been accepted into a course at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Australia, the next step is to apply for your Australia Study Permit. This visa allows international students to pursue academic, research, or vocational studies in Australia.  

Eligibility for the Australia Study Permit

To qualify for an Australian study permit, you need:  
 

  1. An acceptance letter from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI).

  2. A clean background (no criminal record).

  3. Health certification meeting Australian requirements.  

  4. Proof of intent to return to your home country after studies.  

  5. Proof of financial support for tuition, living expenses, and dependents.  

    Cost: Approx. AUD 150 (payable online or offline).  

Documents Needed for Your Application

Here’s what you’ll need to apply for a study permit:  
 

  1. Unconditional Letter of Acceptance from your DLI. 

  2.  Academic documents, including:  
    - Certified degree/diploma. 
    - Certificates and transcripts (10th grade onwards).  
    - Work experience certificates (if applicable).  

  3. Language proficiency test scores (IELTS, etc.).  

  4. Two recent passport-sized photographs. 

  5. Proof of tuition fee payment.  

  6. Financial proof for living expenses.  

  7.  Medical exam results.  

  8. Biometrics.

The time it takes to process an Australian study permit depends on your country of residence. Check the latest processing times on the Australian Immigration website for accurate details.  

Who Doesn’t Need a Study Permit?

You may be exempt from requiring a study permit if you:  
 

  1. Enroll in a course lasting six months or less. 

  2. Are family or staff of diplomatic representatives in Australia. 

  3. Are a member of armed forces visiting under the **Visiting Forces Act**.
